To accept the writing from someone for whom English is a primary language, however, raises the question of credibility of the information and the informer.
This entry contains so many poorly structured sentences that lead to ambiguity of meaning, so many "small" mistakes, such a lack of proper capitalization, missing or redundant punctuation, word misuse and run-on sentences that lose connection with their initial point, that the reader wonders if the writer truly understands the subject or is simply parroting set phrases.
My impression is that the writer is not adequately educated in English and therefore not qualified to represent such a prestigious client as Nokia, especially in the introduction of new and exciting technology, where clarity and quality of language is essential to attracting customers.
Writing conveys more than information about a product; it also characterizes the writer. How he writes reflects well or poorly on himself and by association, his client.
Probably the easiest way to fix it is to change it from "so many poorly structured sentences that lead to ambiguity of meaning, so many "small" mistakes, such a lack of proper capitalization, missing or redundant punctuation, word misuse and run-on sentences that lose connection with their initial point," to:
"so many poorly structured sentences that lead to ambiguity of meaning, so many "small" mistakes and so much improper capitalization that acts to distract the reader, so many missing or redundant punctuation marks that hamper fluency, so much word misuse which undermines the writer's credibility, and so many run-on sentences that lose connection with their initial point"
However this sentence is still long, and should be split into a topic sentence and several explanation sentences instead of a 2 sentence paragraph.
Nice article, in seven years I'm going to get one of these, BELIEVE IT!
Nice article, in 7.5 years I'll be buying one for one quadrillionth the price you paid for yours, BELIEVE IT!
I see someone getting one of these in fifteen years (at most) if they donate money to R&D substantial enough to feed the world's hungry and cure the world's sick...
Actually, just mail the money to pharmacology research and genetic engineering.
This was a great post and I liked it.
And here is to Joseph Harris: Jy is so n poepol, dink jy enige iemand gee om wat jy het om te se oor enige iemand se spelling?
I liked the post, and people, don't flame Joseph, whe should all aim for perfection. I'm dutch and dyslexic (No, I don't know the proper spelling for that) but I'm doing the best I can to improve my English. Whe NEED people like Joseph, see it like a part of evolution.
Back on topic: I think seven years is resonable, try googling or stubling for nano's. We are getting better at making, and controlling, the tech. and with the computerpower that whe'll have in five years things could go pretty fast.
(imho)
and i think i agree with joseph harris.
hes not bashing anyone for the lack of english they speak, hes just saying that a global corporation like nokia, should at least choose somebody that speaks fluent english to demo or report about a product like this in english.
after taking 4 years of spanish, i wouldnt be mad if my company chose someone that natively spoke spanish to report about a product to a hispanic demographic.
either way, i call 7 years a very optimistic outlook.
Also, it's funny to see people bitching about peoples' operating systems and browser choices here... Also, the whole Harris debate - sure grammar and punctuation are great and needed, especially in the land of the internet, but you don't need to make a song and dance about it...
gud going man.....
nice to see someone posting good from my neighbour country

I really loved the Nokia Morph concept. I am not good at English, and felt admitting this necessary. But anyway, keeping all the issues discussed above, about the language problems, aside, I congratulate the ADMINISTRATOR for the wonderful description of the Concept yet in the making. But I couldn't understand, what made some of you say that this concept shall take 7 years. I mean, why specifically SEVEN?
As for the Joseph issue, he's a yank (no offence to others) and i'm English! The language is called English for a fucking reason, not fucking american!!! Whats more, this so called English language that you speak so well in America has several words with different spellings than "true English" (colour/color)
Anyway, English is my only language and i'm not that great at that, all I can say is that I tilt my hat to those who take the time to learn other languages and not mock those who are trying!!! How many languages can Joseph speak fluently?
Avoid writing in the passive voice and you will become a good writer. Be direct and to the point, man. Don't pussy foot around with words. Learn to be effective. This is the Internet. Web 2.0 is here. Get with it or be silent!
I found the link to the official morph page on Nokia.com

nice article!
May God, who is an Englishman after all bless you and give you the strength to continue this just quest to preserve the queen's English. Millions everywhere love you now and I shall name my next Barbie doll in your honour.
Your servant and grateful admirer, Pieter
Kissy kissy..... hugsie wugsie.....
Cool concept... but I think it'll happen in more than 7 years. And... why the fuck do you wanna know if things are clean in a microscopic level? You'll end up not eating anything and stop touching things because you will just get so paranoid about the bacterias and stuff that you will live terrified the rest of your high-tech-nano-life.
I am now officially sick of this entire topic. Go to hell Harris. Outta here.............
I'd also like to add that it was obvious the poster did not have english as his first language, so the post by Jo Harris is condenscending in tone despite his disclaimer at the beginning.
Anyone with a strong grasp of english like Jo could have identified this so Jo's failure to do so probably highlights some sort of isolation from the world either physically or emotionally.
Be nice Jo. You are not your father.
Well, now I just want to talk about the phone.
1) People, I really want to know, why specifically some of you have talked of 7 years.
2) A friend of mine just told me that such CONCEPT phones are just meant to show the abilities of the company, and do not assure to come to existence in the near future. Is that really true?
mail me more bout dis concept ... if possible...
